About Laren

Laren is a municipality and a town in the Netherlands, in the province of North Holland. Located in the region called 't Gooi, it is the oldest town in that area.

The village Laren became recognised when several well-known artists, like Mauve, settled down in Laren in the early 1900. Nationally, Laren is well known for its history as a late 20th century art colony, preserved in the museum Singer Laren, as well as its wide array of shops.

Laren is best known for its beautiful location in a large nature reserve. There are endless walking and cycling possiblities.The village also has an impressive range of beautiful houses, gardens, many with thatched roofs. You will be impressed by the high quality and variety of shopping opportunities, dining or just drinking a cup of coffee or 'biertje' on one of the many beautiful terraces. We also have a few golf courses in our neighbourhood.
